Church Erosion

Church Cartoon of a church building on a cliff eroding from social, political, and theological issues, contrasted with the solid rock of Christ – Matthew 7:24-27 parable illustration

Matthew 7:24-27

This Church cartoon illustrates today’s problem: Our Church Foundation has eroded away due to social and political issues that defer to man rather than God.

Matthew 7:24–27 – “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock…”

In today’s cultural storms, many churches face steady erosion. Social issues, political pressures, progressive theology, easy-grace teachings, and more can slowly wash away the solid foundation if we build on shifting sand rather than on Christ the Rock.

The cartoon illustrates the danger: when man’s ideas take priority over God’s Word, the ground beneath begins to crumble — even while the building still looks standing from the outside.

But the good news? The Rock still stands. No storm has ever toppled a house truly built on Christ. The call remains the same: Hear His words, obey them, and stand firm — no matter what waves come.

What helps you stay anchored to the Rock in turbulent times? Share a verse, testimony, or encouragement below — let’s build each other up! ⛪🙏
