THE PURSUIT OF GOD cartoons - Search, find, and know God
The pursuit of God is the lifelong journey of seeking a deeper relationship with Him, aligning our lives with His will, and growing in faith, love, and holiness. It’s not a passive endeavor but an active, intentional effort to know God more fully and live out His purpose for their lives. The Pursuit of God cartoons aim to illustrate this journey.
At its core, this PURSUIT BEGINS WITH FAITH—
believing in God as revealed through Jesus Christ and trusting in His grace for salvation —as emphasized in passages like Romans 5.
It’s about recognizing God as the source of life, truth, and meaning, and responding to His love by seeking Him above all else. Christians often draw from verses like Matthew 6:33, where Jesus instructs, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” to frame this as their highest priority.
This pursuit isn’t about earning salvation—
Salvation is a gift through Christ—the pursuit of God is about responding to it. It’s a process of becoming more like Jesus, trusting that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Ultimately, it’s a journey toward intimacy with the divine, fueled by love and the hope of one day seeing Him face-to-face.
THIS PURSUIT involves several key practices.
Prayer is a direct line to God, a way to communicate, listen, and draw near to Him.
Reading and studying the Bible—seen as God’s revealed Word—helps Christians understand His character, promises, and commands. Worship, both personal and communal, fosters a sense of awe and connection. And
obedience—living out God’s teachings, like loving others (John 13:34-35) or forgiving as Christ forgave—transforms the pursuit into action.
IT IS ALSO DEEPLY PERSONAL
For some, it’s a quiet yearning to experience God’s presence amid life’s chaos.
For others, it’s a bold quest to surrender selfish desires and embrace His calling, even when it’s costly. As Christians, we believe the Holy Spirit aids this pursuit, guiding and empowering us to grow closer to God (Romans 8:26-27).
