Abraham - OUCH!
Genesis 17:24
24 Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised,
Genesis 17:24 “Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised, and his son Ishmael was thirteen; Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on the same day.”
AND ALL GOD’S PEOPLE SAID … “OUCH!”
Ninety-nine years old. Think about that for a second. Abraham — the father of nations, friend of God — gets the biggest "OUCH!" moment of his life at an age when most people are complaining about creaky joints and slow mornings.
Yet he obeyed. No hesitation, no "Lord, can we reschedule for my 100th birthday?" Just faithful trust in the God who promised the impossible.
The cartoon reminds us: When life feels painful or inconvenient, remember Abraham. God asked for a lot… and Abraham said yes. And through that obedience came the biggest blessings in history.
So next time your back aches, your knees complain, or you're facing something hard — take a deep breath, smile, and whisper: "Abraham was 99… I’ve got this." What’s one area where obedience felt painful, but God came through?
