Gospel Ministry II - Great Lessons from Jesus
This page includes The Sermon on the Mount
Of course, being a cartoonist, I like to capture literal, figurative, and sometimes absurd liberties to illustrate Jesus' great words of truth and hope. All with the intention of interjecting Clean Humor and God’s Truth for a world that certainly needs both.
The Sermon on the Mount (Mt 5-7)
It’s a collection of moral & spiritual teachings, delivered on a mountainside to his disciples & a large crowd. This sermon lays out the core principles of Christian ethics & offers a radical vision for living a life aligned with God’s kingdom.

PEACE BE STILL
Jesus and his disciples are crossing the Sea of Galilee when a fierce storm hits…The disciples freak out; Jesus, meanwhile, is napping through it. They wake him, yelling, “Don’t you care if we drown?” He gets up, rebukes the wind, and waves—“PEACE! Be still!”—and everything goes calm. Then he turns and asks, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Matthew 8:23-27
FREEDOM
Matthew 7:13-14 from the Bible reads:
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (New International Version)

CASTING OUT DEMONS
Matthew 8:28-34 tells the story of demons possessing two men wandering among the tombs, fierce and uncontrollable until Jesus cast these demons into a herd of nearby pigs that then went crazy and dove off a cliff into the sea and drowned.

GIVE ME A SIGN
Matthew 12:38-39: Pharisees and teachers of the law come to Jesus, demanding a flashy proof of his creds, Jesus doesn’t play along. He snaps back, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign!
and I would agree as I live in a SIGN HAPPY SOCIETY. But, I am pretty sure this is not the type of sign Jesus was talking about.
