Faithful in the Moments
As I was 'PRAYING ANXIOUSLY' the other day…
Side Note: Praying Anxiously is a bigger OXYMORON than a Skinny Baptist Preacher—>
But again, while praying anxiously,.. God reminded me … Be FAITHFUL IN THE MOMENTS that make up my day, not Be FAITHFUL FOR A MOMENT in my day.
WHO KNEW?
This Faith Epiphany
may be an obvious truth to others, It is a GROUND-ZERO Truth to BE Christlike in all the BIG and SMALL ways that fill my day…
like when...
driving my car in RUSH HOUR traffic,
watching my GREEN BAY PACKERS lose. ‘Cheer loudly, and sin not Ephesians 4:26 (NFL edition)’
eating out and the SERVICE and/or MEAL IS BAD,
balancing my budget with a PAYCHECK that appears to be on a diet.
having an SPIRITED DISCUSSION with my wife (aka disagreement with maybe a fight on the horizon?).
I turn on the EVENING LIES… I mean, NEWS (agenda-driven narratives void of Christian Values).
In all of the above and so much more, I SHOULD focus on being Faithful in Word & Deed in whatever the day brings, big or small.
For me, it often starts with a daily conversation/prayer, often modeled after The Lord’s Prayer.
Taking time to ask God… “How can I serve You today?” and ask for His “Holy Spirit, to fill me and guide me to be ‘Faithful in the Moments."‘
May God bless each of you with a heart for God that says, “Here am I, send me.” May He find us all faithful in big & small ways including every nook and cranny of our day.
Jeff
