The kingdom of God is like a woman’s purse.
Vast riches. Hidden treasures. No map for men.
Jesus told stories about treasure hidden in a field and a pearl worth everything. A purse is the household version. She can reach in and find the exact thing in three seconds. He has been asked to get the phone and is now holding Tic Tacs, coupons, and what may be a portal to Narnia.
That is not a complaint. It is a parable with lipstick on it. The good stuff is in there, but the map is not issued to husbands. Why is that?
Moral of the story? Some treasures are real. Some mysteries are not yours to solve. Hand the purse back and admit you need a guide.
