I hijacked James 3:1 to give teacher folk a little worry. We’ve all had good teachers. We’ve also had a few who must have received their certificate as a prize in a box of cereal.
Good teachers deserve our support and respect. They make a priceless difference. Bad teachers? Please find work elsewhere.
More directly, I believe James 3:1 is a stern warning to teachers and pastors who mislead others about the truth of God. They will be judged by their faithfulness to Him — not by clever rewriting or redacting the Word of God.
