Stop Singing! - most any School bus driver

The wheels on the bus go round and round…
round and round, round and round…
STOP SINGING! — says every suffering bus driver.

I drove a school bus for about six years. They didn’t sing that song, but the daily checklist was very real:

  • Stay in your seats!

  • No fighting! (I once had to break up a fight between two high schoolers.)

  • No eating on the bus! There was enough food and snacks left on the seats and floor on a typical day to feed a high school football team for an entire season… only a slight exaggeration.

  • Stop yelling, and NO SWEARING.

Jesus welcomed the children. The typical bus driver welcomes them too — but confesses he is not Jesus.

Some days the kingdom of heaven sounds a lot like twenty-seven verses of the same song.
