I am 69 years YOUNG as I write this — only 900 years younger than Methuselah, the reigning Bible longevity champion.
Genesis 5:27 tells us Methuselah lived 969 years, the longest lifespan recorded in Scripture. That’s a lot of birthdays.
Some people look at a number like that and only see “old.” Methuselah apparently saw it differently. He just stayed young for an unusually long time.
Note: The old saying “You are only young once, but immaturity can last a lifetime” is not what we’re shooting for.
Age is real, but it doesn’t have to define the whole story. Enjoy the blessings of many birthdays. Stay active in mind and body even as the aches and pains grow. Life is a blessing from God.
