If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Ok, Jesus does not mince words when it comes to sin. Sin will lead us to literal Hell. Matthew 5:21-42 outlines a better understanding of murder, adultery, divorce, oaths, and turning the other cheek. The emotions and the base truths behind the conduct of mankind are exposed by Jesus' words in just over 20 verses.
Regarding Matthew 5:29 for today: pluck out my eye? maybe. Regarding my TV… turn it off, unplug it, or throw it away if I am wasting time and watching ‘garbage’. If TV causes me to sin… GET RID OF IT.
I can’t even begin to imagine what Jesus would have to say about everyone and their ‘smartphones’.
