Social Media Flames - from LEMONSUCKERS4JESUS

Christian cartoon of "LemonSuckers4Jesus" Alice angrily typing flaming social media posts while sucking on lemons, with Proverbs 15:1

Proverbs 15:1 SME
(social media edition)

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word (or flaming post) stirs up anger.”

Me, Myself, and Social Media Flames

I confess I enjoy reading others’ social media posts, but over the years I have learned (okay, I’m still learning) not to engage in foolish banter that doesn’t declare a winner but often declares all involved as fools.

I don’t mind spirited debates on politics, sports, or even faith. But when it begins to look like two hamsters in a wheel, going nowhere fast. I often bow out, resisting the urge to leave a zinger or parting shot. If the other participant keeps plugging my feed, I often mute them. It’s not a perfect science, but it’s much better than my old Plan A: “Win & Take No Prisoners.”

So this is an old toon I gave some TLC. Twitter is now X, and while Alice is a bit harsh, I admire her zinger — it had a KJV flair. So while you are here, say hi to Alice, and DON’T let her know where to find you on your social media accounts.

Blessings, and may God find us faithful in deeds and in our social media posts today.
