Temptation and the Internet
When I was a kid, my family owned a complete set of World Book Encyclopedias. It was an amazing A-to-Z resource. Today’s internet is like that — only vastly bigger and constantly updated. The problem? A simple click can also open the door to morally compromised temptation (porn, violence, anger, etc.).
But God speaks to us through His Word long before the invention of the internet.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. — 1 Corinthians 10:13
…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. — Philippians 4:8
These scriptures are for our own good. God’s Word teaches us truth and happiness in a profound way. The dark places on the internet are very real temptations, and it matters greatly what we CLICK.
