As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a beautiful woman you are. When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live. Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.”

It sure is HOT in the Desert!

Wow, I guess it was extra hot in the desert, where a 65-year-old woman was a hot commodity. I imagine the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition back then featured the beautiful women collecting Social Security. But I digress…

Abram: a great man of faith. Not to be confused with Honest Abe Lincoln.

Abram trusted God enough to leave home. Then fear showed up, and he went with a story. God still protected Sarai. God still kept the promise. Genesis does not clean that up. Faith and a bad idea can live in the same chapter.
