Providing Spiritual Sobriety Tests for churches deemed “Giddy in the Spirit”
“Tread lightly sinner!”
Some folks are quick to label any lively, joyful, or expressive worship as being “too emotional… maybe even heresy.” Others can get so caught up in the experience that they lose sight of sound doctrine.
The Bible calls us to both truth and spirit (John 4:24). We can be passionate in our worship while staying grounded in God’s Word. In fact, being grounded in God’s Word should lead us to a joyful relationship with God and others.
Balance and discernment are needed on all sides, and maybe Heresy.com should merge with Lightenup.com for a little balance. note: I did not check to see if there is actually a heresy.com or lightenup.com… lol, by the looks of social media some days, they might actually exist.
