Division in the Church?! — 1 Cor 1:10–13

Bible cartoon featuring the Apostle Paul worrying about division in the church

Romans 16:17

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions …Keep away from them.

1 Corinthians 1:10–13

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, … that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, …

Division in the church? Will be nuttin’ but trouble.

Paul is not mad about homework. He is mad about a church cutting itself into teams. I follow Paul. I follow Apollos. I follow Cephas. 1 Corinthians 1:10–13 is not a math worksheet. It is a family splitting the living room.

Romans 16:17 says Watch out for people who cause divisions. The bulletin in his hand is the joke. The letter is the warning.

Unity is not “we never disagree.” It is “we refuse to make the disagreement the new gospel.” Christ is not divided. The church should not be either.

Where have you seen a church do the math and come up with smaller pieces? Tell us below. Keep it kind. Paul already used his outdoor voice.
