Damascus Road - Can you hear me now? Good. (Acts 9:1-6)

Christian cartoon of Saul on the Damascus Road being stopped by a bright light from heaven with the Verizon "Can you hear me now?" twist

Acts 9:1-6

Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples…

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him,

“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.

“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Damascus Road - Can you hear me now? Good.

Two questions come to mind regarding this Damascus Road account in the book of Acts.

Q. Why would God use Saul, the great prosecutor of the church, to be the first great Missionary for the church?

Q. What does it take for God to get our attention? Blinding Light? Burning Bush?

I have not learned of any other Blinding Light or Burning Bush stories, and I also wonder why God would choose me to be a part of His family, or allow me the privilege to serve Him.

Please share your COMMENTS below: What method has God used to get your attention, and put a call on your life? Maybe you are not called to free a nation from oppression or slavery, or to be a missionary, but I believe we each are called by God to serve Him in big and little ways. I would love to hear your stories.
