Abraham - Circum… what?

Genesis 17

and the Lord said to Abraham…

and Abraham said… whaaaa?

Do what?? Circum-what?

Abraham has already left home. He has already trusted God with a road and a promise. Then Genesis 17 shows up, and the assignment is not another tent.

So he does what a lot of us do. He tries to trade it for a job that sounds more… architectural.

Couldn’t I just build an ark?

Different man. Different chapter. Same instinct: Lord, I will obey — could we negotiate the details?

God still names him Abraham. God still keeps the covenant. Obedience in this chapter is not a building project. It is trust when the request is personal and uncomfortable.
