Good Friday for a Broken World

This Holy Week is moving fast.

There is stress in the workplace and in our homes. The evening news headlines include the war in Iran and a divided nation on immigration, race, and even gender, to name a few. In response, many of our political leaders and social influencers believe they have the answer and they can SAVE US.

Well, in response to this, I would say we have your classic BAD NEWS, and we have GOOD NEWS.

First, the bad news

The Bad News:

There will always be wars, hatred, racism, terrorist attacks, greed, and corruption at all levels until Jesus comes again. This is the sad condition of a sinful world in need of a GREAT revival. Maybe a new Great Awakening.

Note: This comment is not meant to imply that all our leaders are inept and/or corrupt (though too many are). My point is, man will not save us; only faith in Jesus can.

Which is a nice lead in to the good news

The Good News:

Jesus came to this world over 2000 years ago to fulfill God's Plan for Salvation. He lived and taught truth (AND there is only one truth), and then died for our sins on a cross that very first Good Friday… And He rose from the grave three days later that first Easter Resurrection Morning to complete God’s Salvation Story for mankind.

Again, be in awe this Good Friday that Jesus Christ, who was fully God and fully man, lived his life without sin, then gave up His life to die the brutal death nailed to a Cross as a blood sacrifice for the sins of all men.

Make no mistake, we need good leaders to provide direction and legislation based on a Christian World View, BUT… we can lead the SAVING to Jesus.

Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of Salvation this Good Friday.

May God bless each of you this Good Friday and the Easter that follows.

Jeff
