BEWARE of Mosquitoes and… Satan?
Mosquito Season is nigh!
Yes, I know it is only April, but mosquito season in Minnesota is not so far away. So as the ‘Good Book says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion or mosquito looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8.
LION vs MOSQUITO
Back in Minnesota
I have observed that the risk of being mauled by a Lion is quite low, but the MOSQUITO risk as spring moves towards summer, I understand.
Either way, the point is well taken…
THE DEVIL PROWLS seeking to devour our very souls.
In today’s SECULAR CULTURE, the Prowling Devil is on full display. From the subtle temptations in our hearts when we listen to Satan’s whispers, and all the way to our society embracing hatred, rage, violence, and the power found in true darkness.
EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO GREY AREA, the Devil (the master of blurring right with wrong) deceives us (including us ‘good’ Christians) into pondering issues that are truly black & white. Like abortion, sexual preference, and gender. We start believing calling sin … sin society will call is hateful bigots. But remember, in equal parts of God’s truth in His love is the uncompromising answer to all sin, including our own. SO LET’S GET OUT THE GREY.
And KNOW we are not defeated…
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one (true God) who is in you is greater than the one (lion/mosquito aka devil) who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
Let me leave you with three free tips when you find yourself ‘PROWLED’
Read God’s Word, Hebrews 4:12
Pray without doubting, James 1:6
Belong to a good Church, 1 Cor 12:25-26
(These tips are not new, but always true)
May God bless and protect each of us, all believing the truth of 1 John 4:4
