An Inconvenient Truth
In 2007, former Vice President Al Gore won an Oscar for his documentary, ‘An Inconvenient Truth,’ on global warming. This blog is NOT about Big Al, Global Warming but instead about an even more inconvenient truth.
BUT FIRST, an ironic side note: a North Pole expedition in 2007, meant to bring attention to Global Warming, was called off due to… frostbite. The explorers, Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen, called off their intended 530-mile trek across the Arctic Ocean after Arnesen suffered frostbite in three toes, and the extreme cold drained the batteries in some of their electronic equipment.
Frostbite on an expedition to highlight Global Warming? Now that’s INCONVENIENT.
In this world of Inconvenient Truths, I would like to add a few more…
A mountain climber standing atop Longs Peak in Colorado at 14,259 feet, believing they’ve conquered Mount Everest, is inconveniently mistaken. Mount Everest, towering at 29,032 feet, is in Nepal.
I can no longer wear pants with a 34-inch waist like I could when I graduated high school.
1+1 equals 2, and only 2. It’s simple math, but math can feel incredibly inconvenient—like when you’re trying to stick to a budget.
But I observe a greater INCONVENIENT TRUTH for this world, declaring we should live our own truth is,.. THERE IS ONE WAY TO HEAVEN!
But… You can be a Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, New Ager, or Christian, and all these paths are different but equal paths to ‘Heaven’.
Right?
Well, I believe that the most inconvenient of truths is that there is only one path to Heaven, which is to follow the God of our Bibles.
Many say, "THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH CHRISTIANS!! You are so JUDGEMENTAL!"
But if we speak truth in love, how is that judgmental?
NOW BACK TO ESSENTIAL TRUTHS.. You don't have to be a genius to realize that Nature screams that there is a Higher Power.
CREATION was not happenstance, and our universe is NOT the random existence of matter and space. Everything cannot come from nothing, nor does order come from chaos.
I respect everyone’s right to disagree, but…
Our creator is not Buddha, Zeus, or the Kemp’s Cow for you Hindus. It is not the Sister Sun, Mother Moon, or any New Age / Oprah Winfrey wild-haired scheme found on a Hollywood Astrology Hotline.
I BELIEVE … The creator of this world and of all things is the God of our Bibles, and may the glory and honor be His and His alone. This is TRUTH, no matter how inconvenient it may be.
As believers, we should celebrate and share this BEAUTIFUL TRUTH of a loving Heavenly Father to a world Hell bent (literally) on being inclusive… to LIES.
IMO… Too many are lost in their own ‘LOGIC’ , attempting to fit the concept of a God in a nice little box.
But don’t take my word for it… Pursue truth, and I believe you will find truth, hope, peace, or grace in Christ.
I believe the Christian Bible is the very Word of God, our resource that contains the history of God’s involvement with His creation and humanity.
The Bible reveals our heart's condition and our evident human flaws (sin), which separate us from Almighty God. This is the most undeniable and sobering/inconvenient truth.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23,
But … remember this beautifully eternal CONVENIENT TRUTH.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Whew! MIC DROP!
My prayer is for anyone who believes convenient lies (which are ultimately inconvenient), there is no better time to discover the truth of a loving God right here and now.
May God bless you with HIS TRUTH, purpose, and a love for God and others.
May you find this source of happiness, contentment, and purpose for life like never before.
The stakes are high; it matters what we believe and who we follow. So CHOOSE WISELY.
