Stairlift to Heaven

Heaven Cartoon of an older lady on her Stair Lift to Heaven.

John 14:2–3 “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.”

Psalm 23:6 “And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Stairlift to Heaven

My mom, Nellie Larson, lived with us for several years in her late 80s. We installed a stairlift in our two-story home to help with her mobility. Being a cartoonist, I eventually sketched this little scene — and it stayed in my sketchpad until after she passed.

The woman on the stairlift is my mom. I’m not making fun of her. It’s just my quiet cartoonist glimpse of her journey home.

A soft little cartoon inspired by real life… and a classic rock song that somehow still works when you swap “stairway” for “stairlift.”

Clean humor for anyone who’s ever watched a loved one take the slower, steadier route home.

I’d love to hear in the comments how you picture the journey to Heaven.

And if you’re able, consider supporting The Back Pew as we keep making clean cartoons that point higher — one at a time.
