Old Dogs learning New Tricks (including AI?) Phil 4:13

Christian Cartoon of Senior Citizen learning technology

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

OLD DOG, Lessons Learned

Technology can be a challenge as we get older, but it’s not a hopeless one. I remember when the big tech struggle for my parents was the blinking “12” on their VCR. Now I can set clocks, but my 13-year-old granddaughter still runs circles around me on my iPhone.

I won’t pretend learning AI has been easy. I’m a slow learner and still miss things that should be obvious. When I asked Grok for a letter grade on my AI learning, I got a B+ (with the senior curve). When I asked what it would be if I were 30 years old, I got a C+. Ouch… but fair. I still have a lot to learn.

Bottom Line for Seniors: You’re never too old to learn new tricks — whether it’s email, video calls, or even AI. God is still in the business of helping old dogs learn new tricks. And what we seniors have to offer is wisdom that the younger generation desperately needs.

May God bless us all — young and old — and may we never stop learning.
