Hebrews 12:11

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

DIET is a 4-Letter Word

That cartoon is not me, and yet … it could be. I have been there, done that … TWICE!

The first time I lost 50 pounds, the next time I lost 45 pounds. Each time, swearing I would never gain it back. Now, 30 pounds later, I think I may need to rediscover that 4-Letter word again.

Of course, there is a broader message in Hebrews 12:11 than my need to eat better or less.

Disciplined vs Undisciplined… Discipline with a heart turned towards God ALWAYS wins out. It could be a diet, exercise, sleep, academics, athletics, or your finances. Or being disciplined in your faith journey — through prayer, being quiet before God, listening, or reading and studying His Word. To hear “Well done, good and faithful servant” is the reward we as believers pray to hear for our disciplined, loving obedience to the Father.

Hebrews 12:11 “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
