COVID-19 Cartoons of the Pandemic of 2020

COVID-19 aka Corona Virus aka China Virus

OH THESE PANDEMIC TIMES:
More far-reaching than any random sick or PTO day in 2020 was COVID-19.

In response to the CDC, WHO, and the DNC (in an election year)  declaring COVID-19  a GLOBAL PANDEMIC, schools, stores, restaurants, sporting events, and churches were closed and/or required to wear a mask.

LIFE WAS MUTED AT BEST

Executive Orders were put in place to restrict the size of social gatherings, enforce social distancing, and require the use of Purell. Everyone was required to wear a mask, unless...

you were rioting (aka peaceful protests with fire), or crossing the border illegally.

The health risks of Coronavirus were not ignored of course but those of high risk were mostly those with underlying conditions. But note.. the survival rate from Covid-19 for those under age 50 is like 99.9%

This was excellent news, but unfortunately, PANIC does not seem to care about good news.

So the public overreacted by hoarding canned goods, breakfast cereal, and… toilet paper. YES TOILET PAPER?  Note: if you are hoarding TP, you most likely have a greater 'problem' (rogue IBS?) than COVID-19.

The other unfortunate effect was the dividing of families, where for many, SAFETY BECAME THEIR GOD.  For many, it was not that we will need to agree to disagree. It was WE MUST AGREE, or we can no longer see each other.

So 2020 was a year of division, and some believers even seemed more concerned about whether you were or were not wearing a mask than whether you were going to Hell.

ETERNITY - there is dying, and there is DYING!

  • We listen intently to the CDC when it warns us that there is a pandemic. We must take precautions to minimize COVID-19 from taking lives.  BUT

  • We don't listen intently when the Bible warns us that the wages of SIN is death. Wide is the road that leads to destruction, but narrow is the path to Heaven.

So I pray today that we can move forward past masks and sincere disagreements about COVID-19 and return to lives focused on serving God, rather than obsessing over the pandemic or the year lost in 2020.

Blessings

Jeff (not even a sniffle) Larson

Note: love it or hate it.. I was not a masker, but I did get my shot when it became available, out of respect for my family and friends, who believed it was important.
