The Parable of the Sower (2025 edition)
This is my modern-day paraphrase of Matthew 13:3-8,
where Jesus taught lessons from the world in the days of the Gospel. Of course, I have added a cartoons illustrations with a 2025 flair
“A FARMER WENT OUT TO SOW SEED in modern-day America.
4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along ‘a church path of Bible Illiteracy’ where the Prosperity Gospel birds came and ate it up. The only church growth was in the bellies of these Prosperity Gospel buzzards.
ROCK ON!
5 Some fell on the rocky (dead) places like… Cultural Christian Churches, where they had little soil. It sprang up quickly, but the soil was shallow.
6 When the HEAT from our Secular Cultural sun came up, any growth was scorched, and they withered because they had no root, no depth, NO LIFE.
7 Other seed fell among the ever-popular Progressive Church (The Live Your Own Truth Crowd) thorns, which grew up and choked out any actual spiritual growth.
because living our own truth is a LIE. There is only God’s truth.
IT MATTERS GREATLY WHAT WE BELIEVE… but not to progressives who believe God when it is convenient, and they simply redact His Word when it inconveniences them. Hmm, maybe all gods are the same?
There is no LIFE in living a LIE
GROWTH IS FOUND IN THE GOOD SOIL
8 Still other seed fell on the good soil of Traditional Christian Values, obedient to God’s Word, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.
THIS is where growth is, THIS is where life is. There is no other life but in the Truths found in God’s Word.
I used today’s church as examples for this paraphrased parable, as this is the concern on my heart right now, but I would beg to guess that most of America is not even loosely associated with a church. And while it is good to be reminded, CHURCH DOES NOT SAVE US, JESUS DOES.
But for those outside the church, outside the Christian faith… this is a PAGAN existence. At times, they are well-behaved PAGANS, but pagans nonetheless.
There is so much visceral hatred for Traditional Christianity under the guise of tolerance. THIS ALL DOES NOT END WELL.
Thorns? Rocky Soil?, a Path? More like a Toxic Landfill for many.
My prayer today is that we take our faith seriously, that we realize our choices matter, and that we do not compromise our faith journey by existing anywhere but in good soil. Our work, our leisure, our relationships will only succeed in the GOOD SOIL of God’s will.
IF… you are currently on a path, in the thorns, or rocky soil this world offers, and no matter how far gone you think you are, know that God will always redeem a repentant heart for a life of promise existing in good soil (His Perfect Will)
Please do not look to God as a SPARE TIRE for when we have a blowout at 80mph, even though life says the speed limit is 45mph.
God is there for those times, but He wants a better life without careless, selfish, or reckless behavior. You owe it to yourself, and you owe it to God as a proper act of worship and obedience.
God bless you all as you pursue His will for a better life now and for eternity.
