A Victim of Circumstance
I have been lamenting my bad attitude of late, but claiming I am a victim of circumstance(s).
Circumstance 1: I am on the mend from viral bronchitis, although it appears I can not be declared 100% better until I complete two weeks of cough-induced sleep-deprived nights.
Circumstance 2: Health Care in America is a runaway train, hellbent on making BIG $$$, with maybe a little Health Care on the side.
Circumstance 3: Politics in America is a HOT MESS, where everyone must choose a side. Compromise is NOT an option.
Circumstance 4: Well, it’s PRIDE MONTH… proud of … sin?
Circumstance 5: We still cannot agree on 'What is a Woman? ‘
Circumstance 6: We live in pronoun purgatory. So please declare, are you… he/him, she/her, them/them, what/the?, who/dat?, or zig/zag?
Circumstance 7: Biological men (ID as women) to kick butt in women’s sports.
Circumstance 8: GREED, envy, lust, and virtue signaling are everywhere.
And … we have CHURCH CIRCUMSTANCES
Church Circ 1: secondary faith issues (i.e., women preachers) divide us more than primary issues (i.e., loving God & caring for others) unite us.
Church Culture 2: Our church culture is more concerned with offending our pagan culture than offending our Creator.
Church Circ 3: 'Christians' on social media deem others as heretics over secondary issues.
SO... brings me to my present state of mind where these life and faith circumstances cloud my vision, creating a ‘tree in the forest’ dilemma in my Spirit.
I cry out, “God, where are you?” as my victimhood status distracts me.
But as I discussed my circumstances with my wonderful wife, Mary.
We stopped and prayed for all of the above and more, as well as for specific needs in our lives and those of our friends and family, and their circumstances.
We said amen, and for all we know, none of our circumstances miraculously changed. But my spirit changed to where His Spirit impressed on me that cares for us outside, above, and through any circumstance of this broken world. THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I pray this short blurb will encourage you if you are burdened. Know that our God knows and cares for you and your own ‘Victim of Circumstance’ status.
May God bless each of you as you seek His presence daily in His Word and prayer. Pray not only for your circumstances, but also for the needs of others. Be still and listen. For we know... OUR GOD IS ENOUGH
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
