God’s Word, READ IT, don’t REDACT IT
READ IT, Don't REDACT IT
The Bible has tough parts: leprosy laws, blood sacrifices, warnings of wrath, judgment, and slavery references.
Some cross them out—literally or figuratively—because they're "icky."
But Scripture isn't a buffet. God gave us the whole thing for a reason.
This cartoon is a light nudge: don't redact. Read it all. Let the hard parts challenge, convict, and grow us. The whole Word is God-breathed and useful (2 Timothy 3:16).
God's Word, READ IT, Don't REDACT IT
"I crossed out the ICKY stuff!"
Leprosy, blood sacrifice, wrath, hell, slavery, judgment, crucifixion—out with the pencil.
It's tempting. Those parts make us uncomfortable. They don't fit modern sensibilities.
But the Bible isn't a self-help book we get to edit. It's God's Word—whole, inspired, and purposeful.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 says: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
All of it. The hard parts included.
This cartoon is a funny mirror: we don't get to redact what we don't like. We read, wrestle, pray, and let God speak through every page—even the "icky" ones.
