For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Greed. Lust. Hate. Foolishness, and more. The wages of sin is truly death.
The struggle with sin is lifelong. Mistakes will mark a life. But unrepentant sin that starts to define a person—that, in my opinion, is where the death wages are earned. God will not be mocked when lust, greed, hatred, or laziness is more evident than any fruit of the Spirit.
The answer is to pursue God daily, in prayer and devotion. May our words and actions come from a heart devoted to Him. Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of salvation and the amazing grace of our Heavenly Father.
The vortex is the warning. The last line of the verse is the door.
