Server With an Attitude - Luke 22:27

Christian Cartoon of a food server with an attitude

Luke 22:27

27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

Luke 22:27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

The disciples were arguing about who was the greatest. Jesus didn’t lecture them — He just pointed to Himself: “I’m here serving you.”

In the cartoon, Brent the waiter (with a chip on his shoulder) flips the script: “This does NOT imply I am inferior to the likes of either of you!” It’s funny because it’s so human — we all want to be served, not serve. But Jesus shows us the upside-down kingdom: real greatness looks like a towel around the waist, washing feet, taking the lowest place.

The next time you’re tempted to demand respect or feel “above” someone, remember Jesus’ words: The greatest is the servant. Where do you see servant leadership in your life (or where could you use more of it)? SHARE BELOW — let’s encourage each other to serve like Jesus! 🍽️🙏
