Bringing a PILLOW to a SWORD Fight?

Cartoon of the Church pillow-fighting Satan with polite sermons while he says "oh... ouch." Text reads: "C'mon Church: PICK UP YOUR SWORD!" Ephesians 6:12

Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I attend a good church — a kind, loving, grace-filled church. But I also pray it will never be a soft church.

We live in a culture that is increasingly hostile to biblical truth. In times like these, the church must not apologize for Scripture or water it down to appease the world. We are called to speak truth with both grace and boldness.

The devil is not afraid of polite sermons. He’s not threatened by comfortable, feel-good Christianity that avoids hard truths. A pillow fight with the Prince of Darkness changes nothing.

My prayer is simple: May the Lord find me (and His church) ready to fight the good fight — fully aware of who our real enemy is. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

How should the church — and how should each of us — do better at wielding the Sword of the Spirit instead of bringing pillows to battle? Please share your COMMENTS below.

Also… if you’re able, please consider supporting The Back Pew as we fight this crass culture — ONE CLEAN CARTOON AT A TIME. 😊
