Morning Prayer - I am not David. Psalm 5

Psalm cartoon of tired man who could not relate to Psalm 5:3

Psalm 5:3

In the morning, Lord, you hear me; I lay my requests before you. Psalm 5:3

David was obviously a morning person.
… I am NOT David.

Psalm 5:3 still stands, even if your slippers are sideways and the heart on the mug has been canceled.

“In the morning, Lord, you hear me; I lay my requests before you.”

David is not bragging about loving 5 a.m. He is bringing the day to God before the day runs him. The Lord hears the request. He does not require you to be cheerful about the alarm.

Some of us lay our requests down next to a full cup and a half-open eye. That still counts.
